Healthier patient: greener patient

Decarbonising care pathways for people and planet

Thursday, 26 September 2024 | 10:30-11:45 | Kursaal

Organised by AstraZeneca in collaboration with the Partnership for Health System Sustainability & Resilience (PHSSR)

This year has been marked by significant change in Europe, amid geopolitical shifts and a new EU political cycle. Policies around health and climate will be impacted, with ripple effects on Europe's future well-being and economic prosperity. Navigating these changes is crucial to maintaining Europe's leadership in promoting equitable health outcomes and sustainable practices.

This session will explore the correlation between early, patient-centred intervention and carbon emissions reduction, aiming to shape integrated public health strategies. Attendees will learn and discuss how addressing chronic diseases earlier can improve patient outcomes and optimise resource utilisation within health systems, with a focus on crafting policy solutions that create mutual benefits for people, economies, and the planet.
