Session 9
Thursday, 1 October 2020 | 11:30-13:00 | Room 1
Digital health is here to stay. The COVID-19 outbreak has demonstrated that digital health plays and will continue to play an important role in alleviating health systems’ weaknesses and delivering more precise and effective interventions to patients. In many areas, the urgency of the COVID-19 crisis has proven to drive creativity and accelerate implementation, as the pandemic has ushered in a ‘new virtual normal’. But how can we ensure that this new digital reality is inclusive and sustainable, realising its full potential to benefit patients and improve the efficient use of resources? Do we need to rethink our approaches around concepts like data sharing & privacy, infrastructure investments, reimbursement, and workforce skill-mix in the wake of this watershed moment for digital health?
In this session, we will discuss learnings and showcase innovations from the EIT health community that can help to lead the way, as well as consider how stakeholders can join forces on the European level and connect across sectors to help drive digital transformation. Join us to explore how we can build on the current momentum and emerge into a new and improved digital health landscape for all!
