In light of the recent Ebola and MERS CoV outbreaks, how do we ensure that the EU is fully prepared to effectively respond to any public health emergency?
During this workshop, measures taken under the existing policy framework by the EU and its Member States during the Ebola outbreak in West Africa will be presented. We will share lessons learned and identify gaps from past and current health threats, such as on the influenza A/H1N1 pandemic in 2009, the recent Ebola and MERS CoV outbreaks.
We will also discuss roles and possible collaboration across sectors at national and EU level to further strengthen health emergency preparedness across Europe.
