L3 LUNCH WORKSHOP
Organised by F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd
Only 8% of people living with schizophrenia in the UK are in employment. Is this the tip of an iceberg highlighting the true extent of social exclusion? How are individuals with this severe brain disorder, diagnosed in the prime of their lives, impacted across key aspects of their lives, throughout their lives? What is the unrecognised potential for their active role in society? Hot on the heels of the World Federation for Mental Health 2013 World Congress, which dedicated its programme to social inclusion, this workshop seeks to address the many unanswered questions for people affected by schizophrenia, both for individuals living with the condition and their carers:
This highly interactive session will report findings of a new global study on social inclusion. A live survey where your personal votes and opinions will spark debate on this key topic will help to inform the relevant policy changes needed to enhance levels of social inclusion for those affected.
