The health asks of the next Commission and Parliament

Wednesday, 25 September 2024 | 16:15-17:45 | Bürgersaal

Organised by the European Health Forum Gastein & the European Health Union initiative, supported by Bosch Health Campus

A European Health Union was established after the pandemic had opened a new era for health in Europe and many ambitious initiatives were made possible – from vaccine procurement to safeguarding health at European borders to protect health and well-being of citizens in Europe. Continuous efforts towards a European Health Union have been pursued ever since, and the recent Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union set a clear message by placing the European Health Union strongly on its agenda. This session will draw from the recent Council conclusions, which recognise health as an indispensable component of well-functioning societies and economies.

What is now needed is an overarching strategic approach, defined priorities, and concrete actions to ensure an equitable, sustainable, and healthier future for all. As the new European Commission will be constituted in autumn 2024, the EHFG 2024 serves as an opportunity for the European health community to come together, collect, and discuss topical health priorities to communicate to the upcoming Commission and European Parliament to address in its next term.

Join us, raise your voice, and actively participate in this consultation session to create a better future for health in Europe.

Kindly note that this session will take place onsite only
